Peter Robert Keil (b. 1942) is a German Neo-Expressionist painter and sculptor whose vibrant, emotionally charged works have earned international recognition over a career spanning more than six decades. Born in Züllichau, Germany (now Sulechów, Poland), during World War II, Keil relocated with his mother to West Berlin after the war, where his artistic journey began. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and was mentored by renowned German painter Otto Nagel, whose influence helped shape Keil's early development.

Keil emerged as an important figure within Germany's Neo-Expressionist movement and is often associated with the "Neue Wilde" ("New Wild Ones"), a generation of artists who challenged the intellectualism of Minimalism and Conceptual Art through bold, instinctive painting.
