Lyuba Titovets was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, where her artistic journey began at the age of five with private instruction. She later earned a Masters of Fine Arts from St. Petersburg State University. During her early career, she distinguished herself as an art educator, book illustrator, and chief designer for the theater Mask. She also served as an art historian in the Department of History of Culture at St. Petersburg State Pedagogical University, contributing to the academic and cultural landscape of her city.
Since relocating to the United States in 1992, Titovets has established a vibrant and widely recognized artistic practice. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international juried exhibitions, as well as solo and group shows across the country. She has held over fifteen solo exhibitions and frequently collaborates with her husband, Aleksander. In 1999 Lyuba and her husband founded The Titovets School of Art. In addition to her paintings, her creative output includes book illustration, poster design, and three-dimensional works commissioned for cultural events and organizations. Her art has been featured in publications such as Sketch Confidential: Secrets of Master Artists, Desert Modern and Beyond, and in magazines including Art of the West, American Art Collector, and Southwest Art.
Titovets’ work is distinguished by its lyrical and symbolic language, infused with whimsy, warmth, and refined technical skill. Her compositions often weave humor with a sense of poetic narrative, creating an experience that is both engaging and deeply personal. Her name—derived from the Russian word for “love”—echoes the spirit of her work. Through her paintings, she invites viewers into moments of reflection and lightness, offering a gentle escape, a spark of imagination, or simply a reason to smile.
