Douglas Magnus has been a professional designer/goldsmith for over 40 years, working as a bench jeweler and diamond setter. His sense of design is rooted in the natural world around us where the artificial boundaries of politics and property do not apply, and in the still point within each of us where all things connect. As a result, his work often seems eclectic, with ties to many cultures. Douglas creates many individual pieces with unusual stones and arrangements, and also makes limited productions. The limited productions are made one at a time with full attention to setting and detail, resulting in heirloom quality. Magnus got interested in turquoise in the early 1970's and began designing and creating turquoise and silver jewelry. Today he owns the oldest turquoise mines on the continent. Today he heads a successful silver and gold buckle and jewelry business.
